Qualifications
Dr Gordiev graduated from the University of Sydney in 1993 with First Class Honours in Medicine and Surgery, and was awarded both a Research Scholarship in the Sydney University Anatomy Department, and the Sir John Loewenthal Prize in Surgery from the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
In 2003 Dr Gordiev was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA). She undertook training in Sydney within the Orthopaedic Departments of The Royal Prince Alfred, Royal North Shore, Westmead Hospitals and at The Canberra Hospital.
In addition to her Australian training, Dr Gordiev undertook Clinical Clerkships in Orthopaedics at the Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London, UK. Her AOA Orthopaedic Fellowship training included the Shriners Orthopaedic Hospital, Portland, USA.
Dr Gordiev then undertook an Advanced Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA, for 18 months. The Cleveland Clinic continues to inspire world leading patient centred care, surgical research and innovation. The Fellowship was under the guidance of Professor Joseph Iannotti and Dr John Brems, leaders in the field.
