Dr Katherine Gordiev
Dr Katherine Gordiev is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Shoulder and Upper Limb Elective and Trauma surgery. She is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia and the Cleveland Clinic Alumni Association.
As a Shoulder and Upper Limb Orthopaedic Specialist, Dr Gordiev has training, experience and expertise in shoulder replacement, arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation / reconstruction and biceps surgery, the Latarjet procedure, rotator cuff repair and management of fractures, among other conditions.
She also specialises in management of elbow injuries, biceps tendon ruptures, nerve compression, and surgery to the wrist and hand, arthritis of the thumb, carpal tunnel syndrome, triggering, ganglions and tendon problems.
Dr Gordiev employs 3D computer planning, patient specific instruments (PSI), custom implants, biologics and other technologies to achieve the optimal surgical outcome. She registers all shoulder replacements with the AOA NJRR (Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry), participating in external audit, seeking always to improve the accuracy of surgery.
