Appointment Information

Initial Appointment: 

Please remember to bring the following, or to email them to us prior:

  • Referral letter from your GP or specialist
  • Medicare Card
  • Copies of imaging reports
  • Private Health Fund membership card
  • Workers Compensation claim information

 

X-Ray:

It is important for the diagnostic process to have an x-ray of the affected area prior to the appointment. 

If an x-ray is not available at the initial consultation, it may delay treatment and a further consultation may be required to review these images. This is usually ordered by the referring doctor.

 

 

Parking and Transport:

Visitor parking is available at

  • Garran Oval
  • Street parking on Gilmore crescent
  • Multistorey Carpark at The Canberra Hospital 
  • Mobility parking is available on Level 1 or the Multistorey carpark. 

 

Levels 1 & 5 within the Multistorey Carpark at Canberra Hospital vary from 2 to 4 hours parking.

 

It is about a 10 minute walk to National Capital Private Hospital through The Canberra Hospital. 

 

If an extension of stay is needed, please speak to the Ward Clerk at the National Capital Private Hospital’s main reception desk, who will be able to assist.

 

Should transport to National Capital Private Hospital from the car park be required, the NCPH Courtesy Bus (Green Bus) pick up and drop off locations are as follows:

  • Southern Multistorey Car Park
  • Canberra Hospital Main Entry
  • Entrance to the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.

 

The courtesy bus loops every 10 minutes.
